Givenchy Gold & Pavé Diamond Link Necklace, Bracelet & Earrings Set

NWS 1-558

~ The very best designers make their costume jewelry look like the real thing, and Givenchy is one of the best.  This is a very classy looking set, and it looks like the real deal.

~ The necklace is deliciously, outrageously bold with 19 rings of heavily-plated, gold metal loops that graduate to smaller size as they approach the folding clasp in the back.

~ The center ring is covered in faux diamonds that have been pavé-set into thickly plated rhodium metal, which sets off the clear, faceted crystals perfectly. The back of the center loop is marked "Givenchy" and also 2 other links.

~ The matching bracelet is comprised of 8 gold-plated links. At the center is a larger, oval-shaped link that is encrusted with faux diamonds. The bracelet measures just under 8"long and 1.25" widest, and terminates in a folding clasp. This is a substantial bracelet with good heft.

~ Bracelet is signed "Givenchy" on back of 3 links.

~ The earrings are pierced, and measure 1.5" long. Both earrings are signed.

c. 1960's, in mint condition. No wonder Hubert de Givenchy was Audrey Hepburn's favorite designer. He's the essence of Paris chic. They were devoted to each other. Seen here in "How To Steal A Million" (1966, in hat), she had it written into her contract that her wardrobe would be designed by Givenchy and that she could keep it after filming. Smart girl.  They frequently collaborated together, and their relationship grew into a deep, lifelong bond of friendship.
