Butler & Wilson Crystal & Gold Enamel Dragon Brooch, Huge!

~ Dragons bring good luck and fortune. And if you were born in The Year of The Dragon, as I was, that means you are really blessed ;>)   It's always good to have an extra dragon or two in your wardrobe, to "ward off" bad spirits. That's why they call it a "ward" robe, silly! Put this fire breathing (actually, this dragon is breathing faux diamonds) at your breast, shoulder or belt, and keep bad karma away.

~ Seriously gorgeous, this Butler & Wilson creation came straight from London in the 1990's. Nicky Butler originally made the design in the late 80's, and it was such a huge hit, they brought it back again, but only briefly. To my knowledge, it's no longer being produced, so when this fella is gone, he's gone.

~ Gold, faceted crystals are set into his long, enameled and gold tone body. His feathers and spikes are studded with faux diamonds and so are his feet, head, crown and spiked tail. His gold whiskers are gracefully curled at the ends, and his ruby eyes are aflame with the fire of ferocity and power! Even the inside of his roaring mouth has been enameled. No detail has been overlooked. He's just magnificent.

~ As you can see by the photos, this guy doesn't lie lifelessly flat, but has architecture. His body curves and undulates, the way a proper dragon should. The head and crown are raised, and the eyebrown are raised even higher, making him look quite fierce (adorable fierce though, not ugly fierce).

~ Measures 4.5" long and 2.25" wide.

~ The back of the brooch is marked "Butler & Wilson" inside of their traditional circle logo.
