DeNicola Pegasus Brooch

~ Founded by Jerry DeNicola in 1957, DeNicola produced beautifully crafted, fine quality costume jewelry during the late 1950's and early 1960's. The company soon became part of the Capri Jewelry Company before ceasing operations altogether in 1973. DeNicola jewelry was never plentiful, and, because of its superior quality, workmanship and designs, it is now highly collectible. Indeed, it's rare to find these pieces on the market at all nowadays.

~ DeNicola had a series of astrological jewelry and had created a brooch for each of the 12 zodiac signs.

~ The horse's eye is a faceted, faux ruby

~ The horse's head and rump are made of carved, faux turquoise, while his chest and forelegs are faux carved coral. A band of faceted aurora borealis chatons leads to golden wings.

~ The brooch measures 2 3/8" high and 1.5" wide

c. 1960, in mint condition, and not commonly found.
