Kenneth J. Lane Duchess of Windsor Jeweled Belt NWS 3-789 ~ Measures 33.5" long and 1.75" widest; clasp is a large jewel-studded medallion, measuring 2.75" wide, with hook underneath, so belt can be adjusted shorter ~ Hand-soldered, gold colored metal has filigree loops running up the center of the length of the belt, at .75" intervals, and these loops are what the hook attaches to. ~ I couldn't begin to count the number of clear, faceted crystals in this amazing piece, but I can tell you they are all faceted by hand and also hand-set with prongs (not glued in). ~ This jeweled beauty was designed by Kenneth J. Lane for the Duchess of Windsor in the late 60's. She was a great admirer of Lane's creations, and included much of what he created in her personal collection. In fact, she loved this belt so much, she was buried in it. ~ Featured in the book, Faking It, by Lane and Miller, p. 129 ~ Stamped oval plaque is soldered onto back of clasp and reads, "K.J.L." ~ In mint condition, and all stones are original.
