~ Like all Duettes, this beautiful shell pair comes apart to form two separate shells (pin clips, also called fur clips)

~ Made of gold tone metal, set with pink baguette rhinestones

~ As a single brooch it measures 1 1/4" x 2 3/8"; separated, each of the fur clips measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/8"

~ Marked on the reverse of the mechanism "Coro Duette" and "Pat No. 1798867", which is the patent for the clip mechanism. The patent dates to the 1940's.

~ One of the fur clips is signed "CoroCraft"

~ Here we see Gene Tierney wearing a large pin clip on the strap of her elegant gown
