Star Faux Topaz & Aurora Borealis Butterfly Necklace & Earrings Set

~ Like a Rorschach inkblot test, what I see in this gorgeous set is butterflies, and you may see something different, but one thing's for certain: we both see beautiful jewelry!

~ This is an exquisite set from the 1950's, made and signed by "STAR". Star made jewelry from 1950 to 1969, so their jewelry is not plentiful today, and because of its scarcity and high quality, it's very collectible.

~ For one thing, their plating is exquisitely done; this set is heavily gilt  in a lovely, soft gold color - not that awful, brassy, yellow color that we so often see in today's costume jewelry.

~ The crystals are also of top quality - Swarovski's finest. This set has dozens upon dozens of faux, faceted topaz crystals that have been cut in a marquis shape.

~ And surrounding those faux topaz crystals are scores of aurora borealis (iridescent), faceted rhinestones; they're small chatons, and they make the set dazzling, without being overwhelming. As a result, you can wear this set during the day, for just a touch of sparkle, without being too dressy.

~ Necklace measures 14" long, with an extension chain and hook clasp that allows you to lengthen it to 17.5" long

~ Earrings are clips and measure 1" across
