1930's Rhinestone Snake Necklace & Bracelet Set

~ Snakes are an ancient symbol of eternal life, of luck, good fortune and fertility across all cultures and all eras. Men and women have been wearing snake designs as decoration since ancient times.

~ This fabulous necklace and bracelet set contains literally hundreds of rhinestones, all prong-set into alternating rows of pot metal and brass base metal (see the last 2 photos showing the reverse side).

~The darker crystals are a deep espresso color, and both snakes have a stripe running up the center of honey-colored, topaz stones.

~ The necklace measures " to " long and " at the widest part (center).  

~ The bracelet measures  " long and " wide. It has a shovel clasp tucked underneath the snake's head that attaches near the tail. The end of   the tail hangs loose at the wrist as a 5-strand, sparkling dangle.

~ The necklace has a hook at the side of the snake's head that attaches to a loop near the tail (see first 2 photos).

c. 1938, all of the crystals are original and all are in brilliant, excellent condition.
