Bank Brooch with Dangling Pennies by J.J. NWS 12-853 ~ The detail in the bank is amazing: 2 steps lead up to the the double front door which has handles, and each door is depicted as glass by the 3 slanted hatch marks on them indicating shinny glass ~ The 4 windows have individual window panes with mullions, and you can see the bricks in the bank's siding ~ At the base of the bank are hedges as foundation plantings ~ The columns at either side of the entrance, and the outlines of the Federal period architecture are engraved in such a way as to catch the light and stand out so brightly that at first glance, I thought these were rhinestones ~ 3 pennies dangle from the base, and are dated 1968, 1969 and 1978; one of them has a touch of verdigris on it which is normal for copper that hasn't been polished in years (I don't polish vintage jewelry) c. 1978 Price = $ |
