c. 1880 Hand-Painted Porcelain Earrings

NWS 11-832

~ These early earrings were hand-painted on porcelain; possibly these are twin sisters.

~ The are bezel-set in brass.

~ The backs were converted probably at the turn of the century to screw-on earrings instead of French wires for pierced, but they could easily be changed again.

~ A tiny brass ball is suspended from the bottom of each frame.

~ The earring on the left has a twisted brass wire around the setting, while the one on the right is missing.

~ What is truly remarkable is there are no scratches to the surface of these portraits. Amazingly, they are in perfect condition!

c. 1880

Price = $145.00
