~ In the early 1960's, when Kenneth J. Lane boldly decided to strike off on his own, to design what would become one of the greatest costume jewelry collections in American fashion history, every woman in America reaped the benefits.  In fact, his jewelry quickly became famous world-wide, and the long list of his customers includes the rich and famous, like Sophia Loren, Jackie Kennedy, the Duchess of Windsor, and Lady Gaga.

~ This magnificent Kenneth J. Lane brooch is covered in clear, faceted crystals of the highest quality. These sparkling, faux diamonds are pavé-set on the body of the adorable seahorse, who appears to be poking out from behind a coral branch. Shh-h-h-h.... quiet! Let's not startle her or she may swim away.

~ Look at all her beautiful pearls! Like silvered air bubbles caught in a swirl of tropical seawater, the luster of the pearls is highlighted against the enameled coral branches.

~The clear rhinestones, on the other hand, have been set into the thickly plated rhodium, which sets off the stones with an incredible brilliance.

~ The third photo above shows the brooch from the side. You can see that it does not lie flat. The belly of the seahorse  rises with a gentle curve and so does the crown above her eyes and head. The coral also has wonderful architectural details. This lovely, 3-dimensional aspect adds to the graceful appearance of our little seahorse.

~ The brooch measures 2.75" high and 2" wide.
